Echoes of Territories and Fragments of Memory
– Coming Soon –
Project Description
The Last Landscapes is a collective project that brings together photography, contemporary art, and ethnohistory. Our images reveal what the land still carries: layers of memory, inhabited silences, forgotten fragments. The Last Landscapes is an invitation to slow down, to observe together what remains, what vibrates, and what we can cherish.
About Us
We come from the fields of historical sciences and visual creation. On the margins of institutional frameworks, we live close to the territories we photograph. Between memory and art, our approach explores the visible and invisible traces of landscapes.
Ongoing Projects
* Locations are indicated with the Nations whose territories and memory they carry.
Alberta – From Ya Ha Tinda to Glenbow Ranch
Between Barriers and Freedoms
Between free roaming horses and mountains, the land holds the memory of what was erased or displaced by the passage of rails and colonization. The horses remain — reinventing their freedom.
Northwestern British Columbia
Between Mists and Unveilings
The fog hides as much as it reveals. Along roads marked by grief and mountains haunted by mist, wildlife approaches humans at its own risk. These ancestral territories remind us that totems and eagles have been present here for a very long time.
Southern Yukon
Between Resilient Roots and Fleeting Passages
From the moose mother and her calf to the balance between flora and insects, the Yukon asserts its resilience in vastness. Humans have taken root here through trials and continuities, carried by a strength that mirrors that of its imposing valleys.
